The College of Science at the University of Basrah organized a seminar (Varicella Zoster Virus (VZV) Genotyping and Evaluation of Cell Mediated Immunity in Patients  with VZV Infection) by the graduate student by the graduate student Rabab Naeem Alag. The study  aims to diagnose the circulating genotypes of VZV and investigate the immune status of infected individuals and included  Collection of samples from patients infected with varicella zoster virus and the study was recommended to incorporate IFN-α, CD4, and CD8 as immunological biomarkers in the clinical evaluation of VZV infection to improve early diagnosis and disease monitoring and should be considered TLR7 gene expression analysis as a complementary molecular marker, particularly for assessing disease severity and host immune response.
