A department within the College of Sciences at the University of Basrah organized a panel discussion titled (Preparation and Characterization of a Titanium Dioxide/Polyvinylpyrrolidone Nanocomposite for Dye-Sensitized Solar Cells), presented by graduate student Bassam Jasb Sarhan, and attended by several faculty members and graduate students.
The study aimed to prepare TiO₂ nanofibers using electrospinning technology, examine their performance after various heat treatments, and conduct multiple structural and optical analyses.
The study also addressed the use of these fibers in the fabrication of dye-sensitized solar cells based on ruthenium dye and fluorinated tin oxide electrodes, while measuring cell efficiency and the fill factor to improve their performance in solar energy applications.
