The Department of Mathematics at the Faculty of Science at the University of Basra received academic accreditation for the bachelor's program under the ministerial order (2305-60129 on 1/6/2026) after the approval of the minutes of the meeting of the National Council for the Accreditation of Science Majors Programs. The dean of the College of Science, Dr. Ali Abdul-Imam Al-Riahi, blessed this achievement to the College of Science and to the mathematics department, especially. The dean stressed the importance of program accreditation in developing the quality of higher education and enhancing the academic standing of the college and the university at the local and international levels. In turn, he stressed the need to complete all the requirements for obtaining academic program accreditation for the rest of the college departments.
