The Department of Ecology at the College of Science at the University of Basra conducted a competitive examination for graduate applicants for the 2025/2026 academic year.

The number of applicants reached 33, including 25 applicants for master's studies and 8 applicants for doctoral studies.

The examination was conducted smoothly under the direct supervision of the Dean of the College of Science, Dr. Ali Abdul Imam Abdul Zahra, Dean of the College; Dr. Adel Ali Abdul Hassan, Assistant Dean for Academic Affairs; Dr. Raed Muslim Shaaban, Assistant Dean for Administrative Affairs; and Dr. Mustafa Abdul Wahab Najm, Head of the Department of ecology.

After the examination, the graduate applicants were interviewed by the committee appointed to interview the applicants.
