Under the patronage of the President of the University of Basrah, Prof. Dr. Aqeel Fadhil Hamad, and supervised by the Dean of the College of Science, Prof. Dr. Ali Abdul-Imam Abdul-Zahra, the Department of Ecology—in collaboration with the Women’s Affairs Unit—organized a tree-planting campaign for the gardens of the College of Science.

The campaign was attended by the Dean of the College of Science, Prof. Dr. Ali Abdul-Imam Abdul-Zahra; the Head of the Department of Ecology, Prof. Dr. Mustafa Abdul-Wahab Najm; as well as faculty members, students from the Department of Ecology, and staff from the College of Science. This initiative coincides with the University of Basrah’s "Nafas Al-Basrah" (Breath of Basrah) campaign, which aims to plant trees across the university’s grounds and expand green spaces throughout the Basrah Governorate.
